What's New
This release delivers Welsh language support to Access PaySuite, bringing the product to parity with the bilingual capability already available in DDCMS, alongside a batch of fixes to reporting, contract amendments, and customer profile editing raised since the last release.
Welsh Language Support
You can now record and act on a customer's language preference (English or Cymraeg/Welsh) throughout Access PaySuite. This spans the customer profile, file upload templates, cancellation communications, and the Customer List Report.
Create Customer
Where your account has bilingual support enabled, a Language field is available on Step 1 of the Create Customer wizard.
Customer Details
In the Customer Details area, where bilingual support is enabled, you can set a customer's language preference to English or Cymraeg (Welsh); where it is not enabled, the field remains visible in read mode but the secondary language option cannot be selected.
A language change takes effect for future communications only. If a previously sent communication is resent from the customer's Communications history, it will be resent in the language it was originally sent in, not the customer's currently configured language - so switching a customer's preference does not retroactively change the language of anything already sent. A warning is displayed to advise of this before saving a change to the Language field.
Available to: Client Admin and Client User (view and edit); Client View Only (view only); Client Add Only (view, and set on creation).
File upload templates
A Language Preference column is now available when building New Customers file upload templates, for accounts with bilingual support enabled, letting you bulk-set customer language preference via file import. If Welsh support is later disabled for your account with an existing template that used this column, the column is automatically removed from the template on next edit, with an on-screen message explaining why.
For the System New Customers All Fields Template, when bilingual support is enabled, the field is automatically included when downloading the template csv from the Template Management area.
Available to: Client Admin and Client Add Only
Cancellation communications
You can now configure separate English and Welsh variants of the email and letter communications sent when a Direct Debit is cancelled, using a new Language switcher in the Cancellation Templates editor.
A primary (English) template must be saved before a Welsh variant can be added, and a warning is displayed if you attempt to switch to the Welsh language before configuring for the primary language.
On the Cancellation Templates list page, a small “CY” chip now shows next to any code that has a Welsh variant configured.
Available to: Client Admin
Customer List Report
A Language filter and column have been added to the Customer List Report, so you can filter and view customer language preference alongside the existing report fields.
Available to: Client Admin
