Create English or Welsh file upload templates

Add a Language Preference field to a custom file upload template.

Written by Gemma Langley

Access PaySuite supports English and Welsh language preferences, helping organisations provide an accessible customer experience and support their language requirements. When uploading customer data using a custom file, you can include a customer's preferred language. This ensures customer communications are generated using the correct language preference and allows language preferences to be assigned in bulk during the import process.

Add the Language Preference field

When creating a custom file upload template, ensure you include the Language Preference field within your selected columns.

This field is used to specify a language preference for each customer record and determines the language used for future customer communications. Assigning a language preference ensures customers receive communications in either English or Welsh according to their preference. If no language preference is provided, the customer will default to English.

Available language codes

The available language options for this column are listed below:

Language

Code

English

en or en-GB

Cymraeg (Welsh)

cy or cy-GB

📌Note: Unsupported language codes are not accepted and will be rejected.

📌Note: If your language preference is Welsh, all communications will be bilingual. Welsh-only formats aren’t available due to Bacs requirements.
