Bacs Direct allows you to upload, validate, approve and submit Bacs payment files without leaving Access PaySuite. It provides a single location to manage outgoing payment files, review incoming Bacs reports, monitor file activity and control user access.
Bacs Direct supports Bacs Standard 18, Bacs Standard 18 Payment Lines, Bacs Active (EaziPay) and SmartDebit Direct file formats. It also includes approval workflows, audit tracking, export management and FM SUN disbursal reporting.
Locate the Bacs Direct tab
Click the Direct Debits tab on the left hand side.
From the main menu, select Bacs Direct.
The Bacs Direct tab contains the following areas:
Home - View outstanding tasks and file summaries.
Outgoing Files - Upload, review and submit Bacs files.
Incoming Files - View and download incoming Bacs reports.
Audit - Review activity across Bacs Direct.
Exports - Download completed exports.
Additional areas may be available depending on your permissions and organisation configuration:
Approvals - Review files awaiting approval.
Disbursals - View FM SUN disbursals.
Administrator - Manage permissions, email notifications and settings.
đNote: Some areas of Bacs Direct are only visible if you have the required permissions or your organisation has the relevant features enabled.
Use the Home screen
The Home screen provides an overview of activity within Bacs Direct. Depending on your permissions and role in the approval process, you can view files that require action, monitor submissions and track progress through the approval process.
The Home screen displays summary cards that highlight activity requiring attention. The cards displayed depend on your permissions.
Needs Attention - Shows files with errors or issues that require action.
Ready for Approval - Shows files that are ready to be submitted for approval.
Awaiting Approval - Shows files that are waiting for your approval.
Ready to Submit - Shows files that are ready to be submitted to Bacs.
Completed Today - Shows files that completed their bank export today.
The Outstanding Tasks section provides quick access to files that require your attention. Tasks are displayed with the most recently uploaded files first, helping you prioritise new work. The actions available depend on the file status and your permissions within Bacs Direct.
